Mouse-terpiece Theater–Go Away, Big Green Monster and playdoh monsters

IMG_1497

No, that’s not a big scary green monster you see–it’s Library Mouse!  He made himself a monster mask to introduce the last book, Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley.  Library Mouse likes this book because it’s empowering for kids (and mice) to face scary things and tell them to take a hike.  After the book, Ms. Rexanne (teacher from the Colquitt County Arts Center) led our monster making activity with playdoh, feathers, yarn, straws, wiggly eyes, and pipe cleaners.  The results were terrifyingly awesome!

Mouse-terpiece Theater is part of Storytime in the Park, an initiative made possible by a grant from the United Way of Colquitt County and a partnership with the Moultrie Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority.
