Fall storytimes and crafts start soon!

I hope that everyone had a great first day of school!  Just a reminder–if you submitted a story for our Summer Readers Write book, your free copy of the book is available at the Leesburg Library.  If you need to pick it up at another branch, please give us a call at 759-2369 and we will send it over.  Also, those who turned in a summer reading log can pick up your certificate and coupon for FREE TCBY yogurt at any branch.

So now, on to FALL!  Babytimes and preschool storytimes will resume at Leesburg and Oakland libraries starting the week of August 19.  Crafternoons will also resume the week of August 19.  Redbone will continue to have a drop-in storytime on Monday afternoons from 2:30-5:30p and crafts on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:00p.  August calendars are available at each of our four branches.  Please note that Redbone, Leesburg, and Oakland will be doing the same craft each week.  We will specify the crafts on our monthly calendars, and you can also view a picture of the craft on our Facebook page.

This fall we will continue to offer our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program.  I am so thrilled with how many animals we have on our farms!  We have a few kids who are almost to 1000 books, and we just started a few months ago!  If your child starts pre-k this year, I encourage you to check out this program.  Even though 1000 books sounds like a lot, you can achieve it in one year by reading just 3 books a day!

All programs are sponsored by the Lee County Library and are free and open to the public.  Call 759-2369 for more information.  See you soon!
